The Art of Embellishment Masterclass + Workshop - EARLY DISCOUNT
Join us on April 4, 2025 (noon - 7 pm) at the Make Up Forever Pro Studio near Union Square in New York for a very special masterclass with Ryan Burke!
Makeup embellishment has become a big deal for editorial, fashion, and creative projects. There are many ways to enhance a look with various materials. This workshop will feature a makeup demo as well as a hands-on portion where select materials will be provided for attendees to experiment with and complete their makeup to be photographed.
Features of the class:
A 1-hour demonstration of key concepts in executing an embellished look including: principles of design, techniques for applying various materials, proper adhesives, strategies for symmetry, primary sketching, and more.
4 hours of hands-on time with a model (or yourself), creating your own look with one-on-one assistance from Ryan.
A photoshoot to document your completed look.
Shopping event from 6 to 7 pm with Pro discounts from both Alcone and Make Up For Ever.
Various embellishment materials will be provided! However, feel free to bring anything you’d like to use.
A deluxe gift bag of some of Make Up For Ever and Alcone Company's favorite products (over $100 retail value).
An opportunity to sign up for Alcone-Pro for future discounts on purchases at Alcone.
Coffee and snacks will be provided.

Artists are free to create a look on themselves or bring a model. If you need a model, use the contact form on this site to message Ryan. It’s quite close to the class date now so it might be hard to organize BUT we will try. :)
Artists are not encouraged to work on each other. It is important for each artist to have maximum time available to work on their own.
This class is designed to be intimate so more focus can be placed on hands-on practice and one-on-one assistance from Ryan. The maximum enrollment is 15 artists to ensure that there is time for Ryan to focus on and work with each artist individually.
While embellishment is amazing on full-face fantasy looks, this class works best with simple/minimal base makeup. This way, artists can spend most of their time learning and experimenting through embellishment with alternative materials and not spend too much time painting.
Products, such as adhesives, tape, sponges, q-tips, etc, will be provided. However, artists MUST bring their own brushes and a basic kit.
While this class is designed for advanced artistry, all levels of experience are welcome! But please understand, basic makeup techniques will not be discussed as this class is focused primarily on the art of embellishment.
The photo shoot at the end of class will be directed and photographed by Ryan himself and artists will be provided with a finished image to their email a week after the class.
Photos taken during the class may be used by Ryan for social media posts and promotion of future classes.
